Pour

The foundation slab has been poured. Typically, the foundation wall above the slab is 30 cm high, but in our case the architect wanted to substitute wall for concrete so as to gain interior space, so the concrete wall will only be a mere 7 cm. The carpenter says (with some chagrin) that he'll have to use a treated sill and replace all the soil surrounding the house with gravel to reduce humidity and as a consequence, prevent rot. Anyway, more on why we need extra interior space when we reach that bridge.
